Denim shirts
Fabric quality, softness, suppleness, style and resistance. Our men's denim shirt, you'll wear it everywhere: after work, for your crafts or on vacation. Versatile and not too thin, our denim shirts are available in 3 categories: raw denim a beautiful matte and dark blue, straight from the workshops and without treatment, with nevertheless a light wash to lighten the edges of the shirt slightly to give a more relaxed and used look. The denim wash shirt has undergone a stone wash. Halfway between the raw shirt and the bleach denim shirt which is a light blue shirt. The manufacturing process of our denim shirts is quite long, since it involves several workshops: fabric manufacturing, washing, tailoring. Beyond the more or less important washes, we offer two ranges of denim shirts: a rather formal and simple range with white mother-of-pearl buttons and a rather chic type of denim with a discreet texture made in Italy. It is a perfect shirt under a jacket or in an urban environment and a range of more casual denim on which the texture is more marked and with more elaborate stylistic options (shirt closer to the cowboy shirt but without the press studs and the double flap pocket).

The origin of denim
Denim is a cotton canvas, originally made of wool and silk, originating from the city of Nîmes, which became popular from the end of the 19th century when it was adapted into work trousers. Technically, it is a twill weave on which the weft thread is white. When looked at closely, the Denim fabric is characterized by small diagonal lines that are more or less visible.
The Western shirt
The western-style denim shirt as we know it today originated in the western United States. Often associated with cowboys, it would have been created with the same specifications as jeans to be a practical garment (two storage chest pockets with flap) and resistant (with reinforcements on the shoulders in particular). It is now considered a basic, a casual classic. The Western shirt as we design it at Première Manche has a chest pocket to store tools or accessories but also a slightly rounded back yoke. You can wear it as a shirt or overshirt.
How to wear a denim shirt
Denim has become a basic garment for shirts or jackets. The denim shirt can be worn with everything: it has a casual connotation but goes perfectly with a jacket and tie provided that the texture (the diagonals of the twill) is not too showy. It's easy to pair denim with denim. You can also easily combine a shirt with cotton pants and white sneakers.
The First Sleeve denim shirt
First Sleeve denim can either be treated in a “casual chic” style, some of our denim shirts can be worn with a jacket and tie or in a workwear style. For this last category, the fabrics are thicker, more resistant but also more flexible to be able to work or tinker with. “Casual chic” denim shirts have a simple throat and a hidden button collar. The workwear shirts are intended to be taken out of the pants, they take up the details of the western shirt: American throat, breast pockets and rounded piece in the back. We have also added in this section our raw and bleached plain chambray shirts whose appearance is very similar to denim and which can be an alternative if you are looking for a nice fabric that is not too thick.
