What is ramie?
Ramie is a cellulose fiber obtained through a complex extraction process. It is therefore an expensive and precious fabric. Boehmeria nivea and Utilis are the two plants from which the fibers are derived. White ramie is obtained from the first plant, more specifically from its stem. Green ramie is extracted from the second. Both plants were already used in clothing design in China and Malaysia.Ramie, being closely related to linen, is a natural fiber that stays cool and light, ideal for summer clothing. It shares linen's breathable and absorbent properties, but stands out for its greater robustness. If you like linen, you'll also appreciate ramie for its durability and comfort.
